Lighthouse Monitoring and Evaluation Department

The role of Lighthouse in developing, implementing and assessing new interventions to improve patient care at national level necessitates an emphasis on high-quality monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems. The Lighthouse M & E department contribution in achieving this goal is in three folds, namely,

a) Provision of information technological (IT) support to Lighthouse staff and Baobab in developing the national electronic system (EDS)

b) Provision of data management and operational research support to Lighthouse and MoH

c) Manage the Back-To-Care program for ART patients.

Provision of IT support

The Lighthouse M & E department has an IT section comprising of two IT officers who provide IT related support to all computer users at Lighthouse and Martin Preuss Centre . They ensure availability of intra-net and internet services. They also routinely evaluate Lighthouse network use and needs, and recommends improvements to the M & E Officer/Advisor and the management on changes that need to be made to ensure an effective network operation.
